From 16th June, members of the public will be invited to an exhibition of Beyond Green’s ideas and approach.

The exhibition will take place at St Cuthberts Church in Sprowston on the evenings of Thursday 16th June, Monday 20th June and Tuesday 21st June, as well as at the Sprowston Fête on Saturday 18th June, the Spixworth Fête on Sunday 10th July and at Old Catton Flower show on Saturday 16th July. There will also be a number of evening workshops for members of the public to debate some of the issues.

A Young People’s Forum, for 11 to 21 year olds, will be held at OPEN on Saturday 18th June and will be the first event in a programme of activities aimed at engaging younger residents.

Jonathan Smales, Executive Chairman of Beyond Green, said, “We want to get people thinking at this early stage in our process about how development might be done differently. We have all been disappointed by development that has been delivered in the last 50 years. It is time to start making real places again – communities with shops, schools, green spaces and places of work, where people want to walk and cycle to get around and where there is real contact between people.

“We think we have a unique opportunity to develop a place that does those things here and we want to hear from local people how they would like it to happen and how they’d like to be involved.

“Beyond Green is targeting the highest quality of life and the lowest carbon footprint in Europe – working with local people, businesses and public bodies, we firmly believe this objective can be achieved.”
